Snow Sculpting Competition in Jackson, NH – January 25- 27th

JACKSON NH – Excited to be “Back at Black Mountain” for our favorite winter event… The 19th New Hampshire Sanctioned & Jackson Invitational Snow Sculpting Competition will be at Black Mountain Ski area where you can partake in skiing and riding as well as perusing the beautiful snow sculptures. This is a Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce event sponsored by Black Mountain & Nordic Village.

This incredible winter event begins on Friday January 25th at noon when teams from all over the Northeastern part of the United States will converge on Jackson Village. Sculpting continues through out the weekend and finishes at noon on Sunday the 27th. Spectators are welcome to view the entire process but to see finished pieces it is recommend you come back on Sunday the 27th. See first hand how our sculptors take 8 foot high by 4 foot round cylinder of compacted snow and create incredible art frozen in time. Sculpting pieces usually remain available for viewing for at least a week after the event giving visitors ample time to get coveted photos, however as weather is a factor we can not guarantee how long they will be standing. At night, during the event, the Sculptures are lit up giving them an entirely different perspective. We anticipate at least 12 or more teams for 2019 and a spectacular show!

Cold River Mini Concert Series Featuring Acoustic Nuisance – December 15

Acoustic NuisanceJACKSON, NH – A night with Acoustic Nuisance is a unique trip through the musical minds of it’s main protagonists: multi-instrumentalist Scots born Davey Armstrong……. fellow Scot and guitar/guitar-synth Folk-Rocker Simon Crawford…. and acoustic guitar and bouzouki playing London-Irishman Kevin Dolan..all ably accented by Becky Armstrong’s fine vocals, for an entertaining blend of acoustic/electric virtuosity and vocal harmony…

Humour is ever present, as is audience participation, and alongside a varied menu of Celtic and Americana, plus their own original tunes and songs, you are likely to be confronted by guitar, tin-whistles, Irish and Scottish Pipes, bouzouki, banjo, harmonica, bass-pedals and synths – and that’s just from Davey(!) …often while singing and playing 2 or 3 at the same time…

Hailing from the British Isles but living right here in the Mount Washington Valley, the band is looking forward to another fun night in the Cold River Radio Show Mini-Series and hoping old friends (and new!) will join them at this pre-Christmas event. Come on out!

Jonathan Sarty opens the show at 7pm

$5 ticket per person
