The objective of this program is to understand the science behind autumn color. Why do leaves change color? What factors influence leaf color? Which leaf pigments are responsible for producing leaf colors in various trees? What is the significance of leaf color change? What effect will climate change have on autumn foliage? Where are some places to see the best color in the White Mountains? What are some of the economic and health benefits that come to New Hampshire from autumn foliage? Hooray! We are welcoming back our friend, pianist Tom Snow, to once again bring the sweet sounds of jazz to SMAC. For over thirty years, Tom has played piano with countless magnificent musicians. He’s one of “those guys” who can comfortably carouse in the circles of jazz, folk, classical, and rock. Of course many you also know him as a constant sidekick and accompanist for Jonathan Edwards. On this night, Tom is bringing as an extra special treat, long time friend and veteran saxophonist, Ralph Norris. Ralph’s sublime tone and gorgeous phrasing are the envy of many and we are proud to have him in out great state along with Tom. A great night of jazz music with Tom and his honored iconic guest.
